Vickers - Knoop Hardness Testers

An innovative series of versatile micro-macro Vickers-Knoop hardness testers for research and quality control in the metals industry. With Windows® based operational and image analysis programs designed to automate the hardness calculation process, so simplifying and facilitating the analysis.

The Hardness Testers have cast iron stable construction for heavy-duty durable operation. Large “throat” opening allows placement of large test  samples for inspection. Accepts loads from 1 gram to 30 kilograms. 

Focusing and (patented) load application is by means of a suspended motor and a vibration free hydraulic system producing perfect indentations. The lens to indenter movement is automatic for measurement accuracy. 

Minimum 1-gram load up to 10 kilograms, optional to 30 kilograms allow large range of weight combinations. Simple straightforward operation requires minimal adjustments. 

These Hardness Testers feature a simple “straight through” illumination and optical system eliminating alignment problems and high power lighting. Lineal turret is always automatic. 

Long working distance objectives provide superior image quality. Three-position zoom optics, providing magnifications of either 100X, 200X and 400X or 200X, 400X and 800X, meet all inspection requirements. 

The hardness testers are equipped with either manually operated 25 x 25 mm or with precision motorized stages having 25 x 25 mm or 100x100 mm stage travel ranges, all of which support large weight samples. “User-friendly” operational software with graphical presentations simplifies testing as “menu” selections guide the operator through the testing procedure. 

Fully Automatic Motorized Hardness Testers utilize Image Analysis measurements with Auto-Focusing of the indentations which enable very accurate results and the software is easily adaptable to custom modifications. 

Semi-Automatic Motorized Testers utilizes “Mouse-Focusing” with results determined from system’s “Perfect Fit’ Software application. 

Semi-Automatic Hardness Testers equipped with a manually operated stage with 25 x 25 mm stage travel range, have a Digital Micrometer and Trigger on one axis for automatic indentation and turret movement. 

They are also equipped with a RS-232 output for case depth analysis and utilizes “Mouse” focusing procedures. The Personal Computer allows limitless control for  application of speed loads. Three special compact printed circuit boards are supplied for use with the PC to provide the electronic package as well as software for operational control and the image analysis program. 

An optional Adjustable Sample Holder which offers convenience in holding the specimen can be used with all models without having to prepare a Bakelite © plastic mold.
